The PofP ELC Turns One

The Prince of Peace Early Learning Center has been in its new building for one year. The festivities at Jordan's school included balloons, a puppet show, cow milking, games, cupcakes, hayrides, and hats and bandanas - A Farm Themed Birthday Party.

While eating dinner last night, Jordan and I had a very nice conversation...

Jordan: Mama?
Mom: Yes, dear. I am your Mama.
Jordan: Where's Gigi?
Mom: Gigi is at home in Houston. We will see her soon.
Jordan: Dada? Where's Dada?
Mom: Dad is not here, but he will be home soon.
Jordan: Golf?

Enough said.

Best Cousins

Audra and Jordan enjoyed each other's company at Aunt Beth and Uncle Steve's 40th wedding anniversary party on Saturday night. Jordan completely looks up to and follows Audra - Audra brings a smile to Jordan's face!

Mark and I took Jordan to the Fort Worth Zoo for the 1st time this weekend. We met up with several of my old sorority girl friends and their kiddos. It was a great day, wonderful weather, well-behaved kids, and just an all around great event! Not to mention a special treat of ICE CREAM too. Thank you to all!

We took a weekend trip to my parent's house for Dad's birthday and to see Gary and Cristina - it had been over a year since we'd seen them. We hope that Cristina is officially a Texas resident, starting this summer. I know they are looking forward to getting married and settled into their new home. Jordan was great on the plane rides, and overall was really well behaved for an almost 2 yr old. She slept well, napped well, ate well and only was fussy a few times. Great weekend. Gran and Aunt Connie also came over to visit the family and Jordan received a Bubble Maker - and loved, loved it. See pics.

As most of you know, there are hardly ever any pictures of Jordan and Mom --- mostly because I take the pictures, and secondly I am not a fan of having my picture taken. At Teagan's birthday party, a few photos were taken without my knowledge, but certainly are memories I'd like to keep....

Rockin' Chair

Jordan has only a couple things that were mine when I was a baby.......One is my yellow rocking chair, and we made sure that Jordan's nursery would compliment the rocker. This morning Jordan and I rocked her dolls, and her babies, and she rocked for at least 30 minutes. We enjoyed it!! And Jordan says "rocky, rocky"....over and over. :)

Birthday Party Mania

While DaDa is away, the girls will play! Mark is at the Master's in Augusta. Yes, the golf tournament.....Jordan and I have a fun filled day! TWO birthday parties for TWO 2 year olds! And a visit with best buddies Chase and Paige to top off the day. Whew!

Two Birthday parties in ONE day........Round 1: Teagan from PofP turned 2 on April 8th. Playing at the Gym doing gymnastics and brunch at American Girl............The girls were so well behaved! Thank you Teagan for welcoming Jordan to your Birthday Day! Round 2: Andres from PofP turned 2 at the beginning of April. An afternoon at Gymboree Play & Music time (or something like that). Great fun with lots of kids and about 5 kiddos from PofP. Yummy treats too! Thanks to Andres and his family for including us in his special day!

21 Months Old

Jordan is 21 months old. Getting close to the 2 yr mark. Amazing. Jordan is weighing in at 22 pounds, and is taller than 31 inches, but not sure how tall. I moved her into size 18 months clothes this week, with only a few 12 months outfits that are long enough for her at this point. Can't get that girl to stay still to be measured.... :) Still a few inches shorter then most of her classmates, but not by too much any longer. She has done remarkable growing the last few months and has really started catching up to her classmates.

Jordan received a progress report from Gymnastics this week that I thought I would share.

Balance Beam: Jordan steps up on her own, can walk forward with a litle help from the teacher and smiles every time she finishes.

Spring Board: Jordan bends and squats as if she is going to jump, but then steps off. She gets the idea of jumping feet off ground, but her body isn't quite ready.

Tumbling Table: Jordan loves to do forward rolls over and over and she is funny - she grunts to ask for help.

Horizontal Bar: Jordan can support herself under the bar by hanging an touches her toes up with assistance.

Good Friday

Jordan has been hunting Easter eggs at PofP all month from what the teachers tell us, so she should be a super star on Saturday at the Easter Egg Hunt and quite possibly she could earn a Gold medal if Easter Egg Hunting was an Olympic Sport. :) Pics to come soon.

Today is Good Friday. Mark and Jordan are spending the day together. I imagine they are spending the morning at the Park playing on the slide and swinging. Jordan loves both. At some point, Mark will drop Jordan with Leslie so that he and Mark Newman can go hit golf balls at the range, and I believe Leslie has big plans to help the girls die and decorate eggs. Really?!?! She's a great Momma! How lucky are these girls! Hope that they all have a wonderful day and that Easter Weekend is a blessing to everyone.

My brother arrives home from Saudi Arabia today, and his fiance arrives on Sunday. See - it really is a "Good Friday". It has been over a year since he has been home and seen Miss Jordan. We have plans to visit Houston in a couple weeks to catch up with Gary and Cristina and to celebrate my Dad's (Pops) 59th Birthday. Looking forward to it!
