Member Guest Tourney

Member/Guest Tournament 2008

14.5 Months - Arkansas - 2009 Tourney Weekend

Nana Noni and Jordan - Member/Guest weekend - 2009

Jordan and I flew together for the first time - just the two of us. We traveled to Arkansas to spend time with Mark's parents and cheer on Steve, Steven and Mark in the annual Member/Guest tournament. Jordan was great on the plane and in the airport (did not even pull out the paci) and had a good weekend with the family. She sure has grown up a lot since last year's Member/Guest tourney. This weekend she has started using her pointer finger tons - kind of cute. And obviously, Jordan was interested in Birdie's lease and walking Birdie on our daily walks outside.

Jordan at School

Jordan is very busy at school. She is now able to climb up the stairs to the slide and slide down the slide all on her own!

Homecoming at Prince of Peace

I don't think there is any chance of getting five 1 year olds to all look at the camera at the same time! ;)
Riding on the "Bye-Bye" buggy in the Homecoming Parade. Jordan is in the middle, left seat - next to Nora.

Sitting together - the girls - Emma Kate, Teagan, Nora, Jordan and Emily.

Nora's Mom, Leslie, was able to attend the Homecoming Parade last Friday up at PofP and she had a few pictures posted to her blog......thought I would share a few that Leslie took with Jordan! (Thanks Leslie!)

My Very Own Cell Phone

Jordan loves our cell phones and would like to use ours every day. She knows how to flip the flip phone open and close. And puts the phone on her shoulder and pretends to talk. Thanks to Gigi for sharing an old cell phone so that Jordan now has her very own!

Also note Jordan's "Fancy Dress" that she has borrowed from Miss Emma. Jordan is now ready to attend a wedding in October - she has a cute, fancy dress to wear! :) Obviously we received the cell phone and dress in the mail on the same day and immediately tried both out! We didn't even take off her pink onesie before trying on the dress - we were so excited to see how it fits - and it fits perfectly! Our little princess. Thanks for letting us borrow the dress, Julie. We'll take plenty of pictures.

Can I Drive?

I've worked later than normal most nights so far this week, so I get about an hour to an hour and a half each night with Jordan. Usually we play chase, or read books, or dance around the house. Anything that she wants to do! Tonight she was a fan of her spoon and my car keys. She looks very grown up in this picture! Sitting with her legs crossed like a kid; not a baby.

Front Door

During our kitchen re-do we also had a new door put in - and we love it. Our old door was in terrible shape! Notice my little helper in the window. :)

Day ??? - Kitchen Update

DONE!!! It is hard to capture on photos since the color is not exactly the same, but the kitchen is done. We are glad to have it back! Whew, exhausting!! LOVE IT. (Note - the microwave is not 100% done as we are waiting for the trim to come in)

14 Months

Today Jordan turned 14 months old! Wow, where did the time go. She is approximately 17 1/2 to 18 pounds and probably close to 28/29 inches tall. Really hard to measure height on a Toddler!! A few things that Jordan is doing:
  • Walking and running
  • Clapping, and waving her hands bye-bye
  • Dancing and doing "Happy Feet" dance
  • Stomping slightly when not getting her way; along with crying and sitting on the floor (can't wait for the Terrible 2's)
  • She says the following words regularly: Mama, Dada, Dog, Ball, More, Milk, and a few others that we have not identified
  • Jordan recognizes that snacks are in the pantry and milk is in the refrigerator and stands at each when hungry/thirsty
  • Sleeps one nap per day and 11 hours at night
  • Loves to pick out books to read, but only reads a couple pages before losing interest
  • Still loves to play with balls - soccer, small plastic balls, tennis balls. She can throw great for a 14 month old
  • Jordan likes to bring toys to us and sit on the floor with us a play, especially with her toolbox and shapes and puzzles
  • Jordan loves to run towards us to give hugs
  • She likes to dance, swing, and be rowdy with Dad
  • Still a great eater, but definitely knows what food she likes and dislikes - yogurt is the favorite and blueberries too - oh ane Eggo pancakes too. Still not a fan of meat yet.
  • Only using the pacifier at nap time and bed time
  • Jordan can point to her ear and her nose (only when she interested in this game)
  • Learned to climb up and down stairs this weekend and likes to practice this task
  • Slides on the slide at school all by herself
  • Starting to use a spoon and fork on her own
  • Loves to put on her shoes and then take them off too

Labor Day Weekend

And since I didn't start blogging until Jordan had her 1st B-Day - I thought I should add some comparison pictures. This photo was from Labor Day weekend 2008. Julie and Emma came up for the weekend to keep me company since Mark was out of town at the same golf tourney in Abilene.
Whitney, Jordan and Audra --- Not the best picture, but all three together! Labor Day 2009

Art Project Time

Pictures to come...........Jordan and I spent Labor Day weekend without a "home". Our kitchen work was wrapping up and the paint fumes were too much for our family! Mark and Steven were in Abilene all weekend at a golf tournament (4th place). Jordan and I spent part of the weekend at Aunt Bonnie's house with the girls (see pictures above) and part of the weekend at Aunt Lisa's house and Aunt Gay's house for Sunday lunch/dinner to celebrate Aunt Lisa's Birthday, and then we spent a night at Aunt Cheryl/Uncle Bob's house next door. Whew, it was a fun time visiting with family but we'll be glad to be back home! Jordan was a great sleeper all weekend which was HUGE! She loved playing with new toys and trying new foods. Overall, not too much stress and of course she received lots of hugs and love from family. Thanks to all who offered their homes to us!

Day 3 - Partial Backsplash

Day 3 - Partial Backsplash and remainder of the sink. Hard to tell much from the pictures, but they are making progress! :) The backsplash matches the "tile" that we have in the living room fireplace - really brings to two rooms together. Very excited.

Day 2 - Countertops

Day 2 - Countertops and new sink - partially installed! So excited that we love our new granite countertops - speckled neutral colors - whew what a relief that we are pleased. It was so hard to make a choice with 3X3 samples. Tomorrow - Backsplash

And Jordan's buddy Nora invited us to dinner tonight at their house since ours is under construction! So great to have thoughtful friends and neighbors.
