Happy 3 Weeks to Jenna Kate

This outfit is one of my favorites from when Jordan was tiny. I think I jumped the gun a bit today when I dressed her --- a newborn outfit, but still definitely too big for our little peanut. Jenna is sleeping, and sleeping some more, and having a couple hours a day of "awake" time each day when we attempt tummy time and "talking" with Big Sister Jordan.

Jenna's 2 Wk Check Up

Jenna turns 2 weeks old on Saturday so today (Friday) we went for her 2 week check up with Dr. Sickler. And yes, she is growing! Jenna weighs 5 lbs and 9.5 oz and measured 18 inches long. Pretty amazing how fast a little one grows. Jordan was also 18 inches at her 2 week check up, but she was 6 lbs and 0.5oz. Jenna has been a great baby so far. She sleeps quite a bit, but is starting to have awake time in the morning and in the evening. She can sit with her eyes open and check out the world and not be fussy (Jordan always needed that paci to be content at this age). Jenna will take the paci, but not nearly as needy as Jordan. She is consistently getting up two times at night to nurse, and then sleeps in until about 7:30 am and is really hungry then since that is typically her longest stretch without nursing. That'd be great if I could sleep in too, but life with TWO kiddos means I'm up at 6:30 am helping get Jordan ready for school....We kind of have a routine now (kind of). Or at least this week we've had a routine. We shall see what next week brings us. I'll post some pictures this weekend, I hope.

Coming Home

Gigi, Mark, Jenna and I headed home on Tuesday - we made it home in time for lunch! Jenna slept the entire time and most of the day. In fact, she has slept most of today (Wed) too. She had a pretty good first night at home. Did not cry the whole night through (like her big sister) and she only nursed three times. Not going to complain one bit! We'll see how the rest of the first week goes.

Happy Birthday Jenna

Jenna Kate Wheelis arrived at 9:27 am on July 9, 2011 (A DAY AFTER JORDAN'S 3RD BIRTHDAY). We could not have planned it any better. HA! Definitely a surprise to us, and our families when my water broke, starting around 5:15am Saturday morning. We were at the hospital by 7:00am and Jenna was welcomed into the world at 9:27am. A busy morning!!

5 lbs, and 2 oz

16 1/2 inches long

A perfect, dark-haired screaming baby girl. We could not be happier with our addition. We are so very blessed to have two beautiful daughters to complete our family.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Jordan

Finally, her real third birthday is here! Happy, Happy birthday to our sweet 3 year old. Jordan woke up this morning to Mom and Dad singing her happy birthday.........she wasn't ready to get up, of course. But she was quickly convinced to get up once she realized she had a blueberry cake donut with 3 PINK candles waiting for her to eat. We sang to her and Mark blew out her candles. She was hesitant about the donut at first, but quickly realized it was a wonderful treat. Off to school for Friday splash day and cookies later to celebrate. Hope she has a wonderful day at school.

37 Week Appointment and 2 weeks to go

Today Jenna and I had our 37 week doctor's check up. Fluid levels were back up to a 12, so doctor was pleased with this increase over least week's results. YAY! The fluid intake helped a bunch. Jenna measured at 5 lb 12 oz. Sonogram lady said this was a pretty good measurement - that it is very accurate. Last week's measurement wasn't quite as accurate since my fluid was low (not sure how that works, but interesting statement). My blood pressure was 124/86 which is definitely elevated for me, but doctor seemed to be okay with all my stats at the appointment. At least she felt good enough that we do not go back to see her until next week - Tues the 12th for the 38 week appointment. Still on track to have Jenna on July 21st at noon. Always a chance that she'll need to come out next week (like Jordan did), but completely dependent on her and her movements, fluid levels, and blood pressure between now and then. We are not at risk of going into labor between now and the next appointment (YAY!), but Jenna is head down and very low (per Dr Webster).

Baby Shower

Mark's office had a little shower for us - what a nice treat! We really enjoyed it and thank you, thank you to all. What a blessing. Of course, Jordan enjoyed the fun too. Great food, great cupcakes, and good company. No pictures, but we all had a good time. Jordan had several little friends up there to play with including her cousins. We received so many wonderful gifts and are really feeling ready to have baby Jenna join us - any time now would be just fine.

Bath Remodel

We started a Master Bath and Guest Bath remodel on last Monday. :) Something we have put off for a bit, but something we have wanted to do since we remodeled our kitchen three years ago - or maybe it was two years ago? I'm not sure, but I do know that it was in September....Anyway, so the plan was to start last Monday and to be definitely done by July 8th (Jordan's 3rd b-day) to give us cushion on Jenna's arrival. A total of two weeks on the project to be on the safe side. So far, so good. More than halfway through the process! We are very happy with the progress thus far. Wish I would have taken some pictures to share, but I'll add pictures when we are all wrapped up (hopefully in a couple days!). YAY! However, my recommendation would be to NOT have a bath remodel at 37 weeks pregnant (for those who might be considering this undertaking!). MESSY!
