Happy March.....and other fun stuff

Now that it is March, Jordan thinks wearing her cold weather hat is fun!!!!
This week Jordan finally wanted to tell us what sounds certain animals make. We've been working on this for months, probably since she realized that Birdie is a "dog". This is a long time coming! Jordan told us what a dog, cat, cow, horse, and sheep sound like. Yes, she did all of them right in a row. We were so excited for this discovery. She has been listening to us over the past several months, afterall. Our favorite is the cat - she gave us a great big "MEEEOOOWWWW". Too cute.
Jordan also recognizes herself in pictures, as well as recognizes Miss Nora's picture as well. And Mark's favorite (HA!), Jordan points to herself and says "Jo-Jo". This is her nickname from her teachers at PofP. One of her teachers is also named Jordan, so our little Jordan ended up with a nickname. We hear "Jo-Jo" a lot now.

Chuck E Cheese

We are back to our monthly play dates with Jordan's friends from Prince of Peace. February's play date was at Chuck E Cheese. Jordan's first trip. She had a great time running around and trying out all the rides with Miss Nora. I, unfortunately was sick most of the weekend, but am feeling better after a trip on Sunday to the doctor for some medicine. Whew.

Lots of Snow

Play Room

We converted our pool table room into a play room for Jordan over the Holidays. My long time friend from Houston, Sarah, made us a couple wonderful canvases for the room. She loves this kind of work, and is definitely looking for more work. Send me a note, if you'd like to get in touch with her. She made these without seeing anything in person - just pictures that I took of the rug. Oh, and we taught Jordan 'A' and 'B' last night too!

19 Months Old

Just a few quick things............

Jordan’s favorite new words: Apple, Chip, Hot, No, Yellow, Poo-Poo, Mama (says this 100 times a night using different tones and inflection), Heart, Cookie, Trash, Bite (a bite of our food), Potty, Elmo (she has an Elmo book that is her favorite). She is now telling Birdie to “sit” and “drop” and uses her pointer finger to make it more emphatic! Honest, she does.

Jordan’s favorite new motion: Airplane (arms out and sway – Mark flies her around the house EVERY night before bed time), and Pointing to her heart and saying “heart”, as well as pointing to her feet and asking for her shoes, socks, and pointing to her head and asking for a hair bow. Climbing onto the ottoman and then climbing over the couch arm onto the couch. Jordan also goes to Birdie’s treats every night so that we can give 2 treats to Birdie – she loves this. Poor Birdie is going to gain some weight! I let Jordan carry Birdie’s food to her bowl each night. She likes this. When we drive into the garage after I pick her up from school, we can hear Birdie crying/barking for us (really for her dinner), and Jordan looks at me and immediately says “Birdie?”. They are really getting to be friends.

Jordan’s favorite new food: Apple Sauce, Frosten Mini Wheats, Blueberries, Raisins, Cookie (but only if she can have an entire cookie to herself, but she will only take one bite and then return to us), any thing that Miss Leslie (Nora’s mom) cooks and offers to Jordan. Jordan will try Leslie’s cooking, but refusing to try anything that I offer to her. What does this tell me?!? :) Jordan has finally started eating pieces of grilled chicken and chicken nuggets (Babe's Chicken, Chicken Express, and Chik-Fil-A).

Linden Klein and family came over to play this last weekend. Well, Jordan has some improving to do on her "sharing". Yep, she thinks every toy in the playroom is for her only! By the end of the night, she was doing much better with allowing Lindy to play with her toys.

Boy, we have our hands full! Loving every minute.
