Memorial Day Weekend

Mark and I headed to Fredricksburg for a wedding and Jordan had a slumber party at Aunt Lisa and Uncle Dale's house, plus cousin Lexa joined them too. I believe Jordan had a great time - almost as fun as the Taulbee's had with her. :) Thank you, thank you for entertaining Jordan most of the weekend! We are keeping on eye on our neighbor's home next door for the week. The family headed over to put their swimming pool to use. No worries about Jordan and swimming. She loved it and showed no fear. I think she might be jumping in all on her own by the end of the summer! Conversation this weekend - Mama: "How old are you, Jordan?" Jordan: "Two" Mama: "Good girl, that is right; you are almost two." Jordan: "I'm five, Mama." (showing us five fingers). Oh good grief, she thinks that she is five! :)

Twenty Two Months Old

Twenty Two Months. Just Two months shy of turning Two Years Old. A few fun things about Jordan. She loves ice cream (yogurt) from Yogurt Land, especially the M&Ms. Jordan likes to “walk” around the block and would rather not ride in her stroller unless she has her water and a snack. She uses the word “Mine” on a regular basis especially when it involves Birdie getting into her things. Jordan tried her first Capri-Sun and juice box this past month. She liked the Capri-Sun much more than the juice box (apple juice). Jordan loves cupcakes, cookies, etc. But she also loves fruit, waffles, apple sauce, and yogurt almost as much. Peanut butter sandwiches are a new joy – or licking the peanut butter off the bread….Jordan’s favorite song is Happy Birthday and likes for me to sing it to a whole list of family and friends. Jordan has started counting 1 to 10 with me on a regular basis. Number two, five and six are her favorites. And we are making progress with identifying her colors. The favorite is still “yellow”, but she finally understands that everything is not yellow, even though she likes to tell me this (with a mischevious grin on her face). The color purple would be her second favorite. Jordan made a trip to the zoo and a trip to Houston this month. You would not believe how much of a "gigi's girl" she has become. Can't get enough of her Gigi. We are enjoying evening walks to the pond to see the ducks and baby ducks. Jordan is still taking a two hour nap on the weekends, and during the week, and sleeps great at night. She has figured out now how to yell “Mama” out loud on the weekends when she is up and ready to get her day started! Jordan is officially wearing size 18 months, and has grown so much since the beginning of the year. I believe she is 23 pounds now. I tried to make a size 12 month dress work for Sunday school last weekend. It was cute, but a bit too short and too tight. We seem to wear out shoes faster than Gigi and Pops can buy them!! She can just about take off and put back on her shoes. The taking off part she has had figured out for quite some time, but she is now starting to put them back on by herself. Jordan has a routine now that she wants waffles, milk, and a pony tail each morning before school. She likes to show me her outfit and point to “pants”, “shorts”, “skirt” and ask to go to school with Dada in the car each morning. When I pick her up from school she is interested in showing me her art work, and grabbing her lunch box. And of course, she carries it all to the car – by herself! Definite routine kind of girl. That’s about all I can think off to report. She is a wonder to me each day. A new trick, a new word, a new smile. Her little personality is taking off!
